Focus: Sustainable living for the health of our planet (sustainability)
Duration: 1 hour Max Numbers: 30 students per session Lesson Highlights: We explore the meaning of sustainability, what it means for us and for our planet. Students will watch a video outlining the problems facing our ocean environment. We will discuss the importance and role of coral reef ecosystems using a 3D model of coral. We also explore the impacts of plastic pollution through an interactive scene, identifing sources of pollution. Through a group activity, we will suggest solutions to existing waste issues and theorise possible future solutions, including positive steps we can take to prevent further environmental damage. As always, we try to end with some free-choice ocean appreciation videos! |
Please Note: Our lesson format uses group discussions, educator lead questioning and worksheets (for older groups) interspersed with the use of VR equipment to highlight focus areas. The use of VR equipment for each student does not exceed a 15min block, which is in line with product use recommendations.
