Coral Reef Survey
During a multimedia presentation featuring coral reef footage & data from Heron Island, students learn about biodiversity, hypotheses & survey methods used to monitor coral reefs.
Students record data, interpret & discuss findings aswell as proposing future management solutions.
An ocean acidification component is also covered, which identifies the importance of data collection and its uses.
We also bring along our awesome live marine animals for some hands on learning about the animals that help keep coral reefs healthy and create some ocean themed artwork*.
(*art component optional for Grade 11 & 12)
