Senior STEAM Program
Coral Reef Survey
Using actual coral reef survey footage & data from Heron Island, students conduct a visual coral reef survey, recording data about fish species & coral coverage. Students interpret data, discuss findings & propose future management solutions.
In a multimedia presentation, students will also learn about biodiversity, hypotheses
& survey methods used to monitor coral reefs.
We also bring along our awesome live marine animals for some hands on learning about the animals that help keep coral reefs healthy and create some ocean themed artwork (art component optional for Grade 11 & 12).
